These bookends may be fine for a few small books, but I eventually gave up on them after they repeatedly fell off the shelf from not being able to hold my books.

Sturdy and inexpensive, these are great bookends for handling shelves of paperback or hardcover books. My only complaint with them is that they don't have any sort of non-skid material on the bottom and just depend upon the weight of the books resting on the "prong" that goes underneath.
